Q. I’ve done other bridal makeup trials and HATED them. What makes you different?

A.  Unfortunately, a lot of makeup artists charge a hefty fee for a makeup trial and don’t really listen to what the bride wants, leaving them worried about how they’ll look on their wedding day. At HIGH STYLE BRIDAL MAKEUP & HAIR, we don’t do your typical “makeup trial.”  Instead, we do a strategy session. We talk about your skin type, your skincare routine, your makeup likes and dislikes, your bridal inspiration, and more. We then do a bridal preview, where we take all of that into account to do a test run for your wedding day makeup, taking copious photos so when the wedding day comes we’re able to perfectly recreate it.

Q. Do you come to my bridal suite, or do I need to drive to a salon?

A.  For your wedding day, we come to you.

Q. I love your services, but still need a hairstylist. Can you recommend someone?

A.  Yes!  We have a whole lineup of seasoned professionals whom we recommend to our clients.

Q. What if I cry my eyes out at the altar? Or if it’s 100 degrees and humid? Or if my lips get a little  dry from chatting so much at cocktail hour? Or if I get really sweaty on the dance floor?

A.  With our special services we offer, we’re with you the whole time to take care of any touch-ups or last minute issues. Just like a celebrity would have her glam squad with her to fix her makeup at the Oscars, we’ll be there to make sure you look your best the entire day if you like.

Q. I’m having a destination wedding. Do you travel?

Q. My girls need to look amazing too. Can you do my whole bridal party?

A.  We specialize in cohesive bridal party hair & makeup design that complement the bride and the whole vibe of the wedding.

Q. My mom wants me to have a classic look for church, but I’m dying for a sexy smoky eye look. What should I do?

A.  We’re able to give you a unique makeup looks for your wedding day. 

Q. My fiance has a HUGE zit on the day of our wedding! Help!

A.  We even do touch-ups/skincare on grooms on the wedding day if needed.

TRIALS:

Q.  When do you recommend makeup and hair trials take place? 

A.  We would advise that a makeup and/or hair trial take place as soon as you buy your dress and book your photographer. Although, we book months prior to wedding day to assure a full Team of Artists.

Q.  What happens during my trial? 

A.  We will set an appointment for you to come to our full-size studio. We encourage you to bring images and inspiration of your desired look. Our Stylists have the talent and experience at a very high level to bring your vision to life. That means you look like you, just the best possible version of yourself. Our stylists will be happy to offer their expert opinion and suggestions in addition to your look. If you have any accessories, such as your wedding veil or hair pieces, please bring them with you. We also recommend wearing a white or light-colored top, so you can envision your entire look.

Q.  Is there a time limit for the trial? How long does it take?

A.  We are a full-size studio not a salon – we do not rush you out the door! We are happy to provide you with a few variations to your look, depending on the detail and time allotted for the desired look. Please allow roughly 3-4 hours for your trial if you are doing both makeup and hair design.

Q.  What can I expect during my makeup trial? 

A.  During your makeup trial you will have a choice of either a custom formulated airbrush makeup for your skin type or high definition traditional makeup, a choice of individual eyelash design with a semi-permanent adhesive or an array of natural hair eyelash strip styles. Our stylists will take you to a midpoint in the application, from an inspired photo that you provide us with  that  means that we can scale backward or forward depending on the desired finished look.

Q.  What can I expect during my hair trial? 

A.  Hair designs have may facets of creation. Depending on your desired style, our stylists may need to incorporate hair extensions, hair filler, and/or hair padding to achieve your finished look. If any of those options are needed, we have them available. Depending on the complexity of your style, we are happy to offer variations of your desired style.

Q.  What is the difference between Airbrush Makeup and HD Makeup? 

- Airbrush Makeup is a sprayed on, fine mist application. We are experts in airbrush formulation and create a customized formulation to match your skin tone for a flawless, smooth finish. It is long lasting against hot weather, oily skin and perspiration.

- High Definition Makeup (HD Makeup) is a traditional makeup application and is manually applied with a sponge or brush. The coverage can be built upon from light to heavy coverage depending on your skin type and desired look and has great staying power.

Q. Which products do you use? 

A. Our stylists use a variety of different cosmetic brands including: MAC, Chanel, Nars, Dior, Laura Mercier, Urban Decay, Makeup Forever, Temptu & Dinair. We also used specialized skin primers and, if needed, line fillers. Some of our hair styling products include: Kenra, Drybar, Redken, Wella, TIGI, Schwarzkopf Professional & CHI. (All products are tried, tested, and trusted).

Q.  Do you offer set days for makeup and hair trials?

A.  Our trials are offered  upon availabilityduring daylight  hours.  During off-peak season, weekend trials are available. Most Importantly is getting on our calendar.

Q.  How can I prepare for my makeup and hair trial? 

A.  In preparation for your trial, we suggest coming with clean, dry hair and a clean face. You may prep your skin with your usual skincare products and a light styling product for your hair no hair conditioner.  If you normally blowout your hair, please do so prior to trial so your desired style may be created with our irons.

Q.  What if I change my mind about my look after my trial?

A.  It is not uncommon for a bride to be undecided between different wedding day looks or change their mind completely about their wedding day look! We encourage you to book a second (or sometimes a third!) trial with our stylist to help you decide on your final wedding day look. 

Q.  What if I change my mind about my Hair stylist or Makeup Artist?

A.  If for any reason, you are unhappy with or feel that your desired look wasn’t achieved by our artist/stylist, please reach out to us. We will be happy to offer you a discounted price on a second trial with a different artist/stylist.

Q.  How do I further secure my wedding date after my makeup and hair trial?

A.  After your trial, we will temporarily hold your wedding date for 24 hours. A non-refundable $150.00 Initial Reservation Deposit  is required to reserve your stylist for your event. Once your deposit is made, you will need to confirm the number of members in your bridal party for our services. Once bridal party is confirmed a 30% Retainer will be due before wedding contract signing.

Q.  Can I secure my wedding date before scheduling my trial?

A.  Absolutely! Call us, write us an email, or fill out the short form on our Contact Us page. Please include your wedding date, wedding venue, wedding preparation location, number of people requiring services, and types of services required. Once we have confirmed availability of our stylists for your event, a non-refundable $150.00 Initial Reservation Deposit  is required to Reserve your wedding date.

Q.  Do you have a minimum number for a wedding booking?

A.  During peak season a minimum of two people (Bride plus 1 other) must be booked for services on the wedding day. If Bride only is booking, prices will increase.

Q.  What is the process for booking services for my wedding?

A.  Once the non-refundable $150.00 Initial Reservation Deposit  is paid, your wedding date and stylist will be reserved. $100.00 is credited toward the Bride’s wedding day services and $50.00 is a contract service fee (every contract is customized). Depending on the wedding date, there will be a designated time-frame to confirm the number of members in your bridal party. Once bridal party is confirmed, your contract will be drawn up and sent to you. Contract must be signed within designated timeframe and 30% of your wedding day balance will be due  Prior to signing. Your final wedding day balance is due prior to wedding date. All balances, due dates, and terms and conditions will be outlined in your contract.

WEDDING DAY:

Q.  Will my makeup stay perfect all day?

A.  Our stylists specialize in bridal makeup and hair design. We are trained in a beauty layering technique which will give your makeup great staying power throughout your event even in the most tearful moments. For our bride, she will have a choice between a complimentary lip gloss and a full size lipstick or stay put lip color for her special day.  

Q.  Do you offer services for my stylist to stay with me on my wedding day?

A.  We offer 3 different services: Our Bride Touch-Up Service and our Bride Change-Up Service and Stay Additional 3 Hour Service.

  1.  Our Bride Touch-Up Service is a half-hour service with a precisely scheduled start time and end time.

  2.  Our Bride Change-Up Service is a 45 minute to 1-hour service in which your stylist will travel to your desired location at a specific time to change your entire look.

  3.  Stay On Site Service- Our Artist will stay on Site for an additional 3 hours and make sure you are perfect for your photos or ready for walking down the isle.

Q.  I’m thinking of having a spray/airbrush tan for my wedding day. Is this okay?

A.  Yes! If you plan on having a spray or airbrush tan, we recommend that you also have this applied for your makeup trial as well, so you will be able to see the makeup how it will look on your wedding day. However, if you decide not to have this done for your trial your Stylist will be able to color match the day of your wedding.

Q.  On the wedding day, should my hair be styled before my makeup?

A.  If you are receiving both makeup and hair design services by our stylists, your hair style will be completed prior to your makeup application or at least prepped before makeup. If you are receiving either hair or makeup services by another company, your hair should be styled prior or prepped before  makeup application as hairsprays may affect finished makeup look if by mistake gets on to face. Also you want the makeup to be as fresh as possible. But of course  every situation can warrant a different need.

Q.  If I have a large bridal party, will there be enough time to get everyone ready on my wedding day?

A.  Our Artists work in team formation so there is no time taken away from the bride in order to service the rest of the party. We supply enough artists to service each member of your bridal party and schedule ample time to complete desired looks.The sooner you book us that  enables us to supply the right amount of artists that can perform in a timely fashion.

Q.  Do you charge extra for travel?

A.  Travel expenses may apply depending on the location of you and your stylist. Client is responsible for any tolls and parking fees associated with travel. Please contact us for an accurate quote.

Q.  What form of payment do you accept?

A.  We accept cash, bank transfers (Zelle), certified checks, and credit cards (credit card payments will incur a surcharge of 3.75%).
